Wedding photos – turn around time.

I want to address a myth and misconception about wedding photography. A lot of wedding photographers typically tell couples who hire them that their wedding photos will be ready in two or three weeks, and that’s if they’re lucky, as some take four or five weeks. I can’t even imagine more than two weeks, but apparently that’s the norm. 

We once had a couple who hired an additional photographer (outside of our company). When we were doing photos with them, the bride asked to take some pictures with her phone, so that she wouldn’t have to wait 3 weeks to see her wedding photos, to which I responded that she didn’t have to wait that long. The bride was very surprised, and they asked our photographer to please take his time, as they’d rather wait and have a really good batch of pictures, with high-quality editing, than having them rushed. I understood that the implication was that having the photos two days later after the ceremony, would mean that the photos’ quality would suffer, but I’m telling you, it is a big fat lie. Photographers take photos at your event and then they go home. They go to dinner, watch TV, spend time with their family, and do other jobs as well, because they will just put your files in a drawer for a couple of weeks. If someone is not delivering you your photos right away, it’s only because they put them aside for a later date. It doesn’t mean that they were taking all this time to work on your photos.This is why all the photographers that work with me are required to deliver your photos within 72 hours, because all we do is elopement-style weddings and all we offer in our packages is one or two hour shoots. I don’t see why you would have to wait weeks to see the work of one hour. 

And if you are a photographer and want to work with us, all you need to do is plan ahead. We will not tolerate playing with the client’s minds and making them think that waiting a long time will be worth it because a high-quality job is guaranteed. I know for a fact that it doesn’t take a photographer that long to edit your photos, especially after just one hour of photography. Sometimes just because something is more expensive or it takes longer, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it is better. Keep that in mind.
